Netbook Reviews Collated

Those of you familiar with the movie review site Rotten Tomatoes can clearly see the factors that lead to its success. By collating reviews of movies across the board, potential moviegoers and DVD renting patrons could, using the law of averages, assume whether they would be likely to enjoy a particular movie based on its universal reviews. Imagine if the same applied to netbooks?

Well, now it does. Some of you might know the website TestFreaks.com, who have now launched a specific section of their site solely covering netbook reviews. Although some of the same problems from RT plague TF (the thumbs-up, thumbs-down approach which can lead to exaggerated or understated scores) invariably you are able to check out a broad range of user and 'expert' opinions on pretty much every netbook on the market.

For example, the MSI Wind with a Freak Score of 9.5/10 features 45 expert reviews from CNet, Laptop Mag and the like and breaks down each review into a summary with Pros and Cons as well as links to the full review. Pretty handy for netbook buyers looking to get some feedback outside of the polarized mainstream channels.

The IdeaPad S10 (which I am currently typing on) is listed at $1048 on their website. Looks like they need to work out a few kinks...

D'oh! Yeah don't rely on the pricing or the overall review scores too much but having links to a ton of expert and user reviews in one place can only be a good thing for buyers!
