On paper the new HP Mini 1000 and the older HP Mininote 2133 are chalk and cheese. The Mini 1000 clearly trumps the dated and underpowered Mininote 2133 in specs. However, the folks at MininoteUser put the two machines side by side, and the netbooks actually look surprisingly similar!Despite the superior aluminium construciton of the 2133, the Mini 1000 has almost exactly the same form factor as the 2133. The 1000 also squeezes a 10" screen into the same size lid that housed the smaller 9" screen of the 2133. The winning keyboard design of the 2133 that was heralded as the best keyboard on a netbook, not surprisingly, remains unchanged. However, the small trackpad with straddled left-click and right-click buttons that was one of the key complaints of 2133 reviewers, is strangely still present in the Mini 1000.
