Asus' touchscreen Eee Top PC touches down with new product page

A little while back we covered a hands on demo of Asus' Eee Top at the initial product launch in Germany. This machine is essentially a desktop 'in a screen' ala Apple's iMac running an Atom CPU with a touchscreen.

Well, the Eee Top now has its own official product page on Asus' website - and apparently Asus recommends Windows Vista for use on this sucker. The Eee Top is being marketed as a 'everyone-in-the-family' communal PC with Asus suggesting that family members use the touch screen to scribble memos to each other. I can see it now - 'Mum! We are out of milk, can you go get some while I sit here and play Xbox?'.

The Eee Top isn't just a gimmick though - its an awesome web conferencing machine with a quiet 26dB noise output, Wireless N, decent size screen, an integrated 1.3MP webcam and mic. It also has a discreet ATi graphics card so video playback should be smooth even at high def.

The screen options are 16" and 19" so the Eee Top offers lots of screen space to scribble away to your hearts content and catch up on global catastrophes while chowing down on your Corn Flakes and milk.

Electric Pig reports that the next-gen Eee Top will come with a wireless keyboard and mouse as well as a built-in battery, meaning this will really be the ultimate web conferencing machine!

Brad from liliputing even suggests that if the netbook is the new laptop the Eee Top will be the new desktop. Way to go Asus - revolutionarize the whole PC market why don't ya?

The WebConferencing capabilities of this are pretty great. It is so easy to use, it would just take an easy to use Conferencing solution to allow simple video conferencing to long distance family members.

Our QuickVisuals service at GAN Conferencing is the easiest there is. No registrations for attendees or downloading anything. It just works and the host is in control of everything, even turning on and off the cameras.

Take a look at http://www.ganconference.com/index.php/web-conferencing/quickvisuals
