The Samsung NC10 that Laptop Mag imported from Korea has arrived, been unboxed and has now been reviewed scoring an impressive 4 out of 5 stars.
EV's Key outtakes;
- Insane battery life of 7 hours from the 6-cell battery at 50% brightness while web surfing on WiFi - The battery lasted almost 5 hours when tested at 100%
- They LOVED the large keyboard
- Touchpad from Synaptics was good but a bit on the small side to accomodate the big keyboard
- Crisp 1024x600 display with nice viewing angles
- Speakers sound very good - similar to the Eee PC 1000H
- High quality webcam
- Strong WiFi performance
- Side mounted power button is attractive and convenient
- Score of 603 in 3DMark03 - this is below my MSI Wind score of 716 with Bios 1.09 (or 929 overclocked) and below Laptop Mag's Eee PC 1000H test score of 739 but still not bad
It looks like the MSI Wind and Eee PC 1000H have finally been trumped by the Samsung NC10. Lo and Behold.

Update 31/10/2008: Turns out that the 7-hour battery life reported by Laptop Mag wasn't entirely correct. The machine actually dimmed the screen to the lowest brightness setting automatically after a small period of inactivity. However, redoing the test and fixing the screen at 50% brightness for the duration Laptop Mag was about to get about 6 and a half hours of battery life - still very impressive. Correction here.
