Possibly gearing up for the launch of their Atom powered version of the mininote, HP reseller Amazon.com have chop, chop, chopped the price of the HP 2133 mininote to super-low levels. I reported on this recently whereby the mininote could be picked up for USD370-400 online... now Amazon.com is selling this metal netbook with great keyboard for only USD299!! That's almost half the RRP of USD500, although arguably RRP is irrelevant on a netbook thats almost half a year old. You can get yours at our Amazon netbook store.
Regardless, this is a great deal on a basic machine with excellent build quality. Bare (bear?) in mind you aren't getting the renowned Atom processor though - rather a less powerful VIA C7, and you aren't getting Windows either - SUSE Linux is the order of the day. But the professional looks, quality design and huge keyboard make this an awesome deal for mobile business users who don't want to be seen with Hello Kitty machines. Oh and USD299 doesn't include the lovely digital camo teddy bear you can see below but c'mon you can't have everything.
Cheap netbook, teddy not included
