Dell Inspirion Mini 9 Upgrades, SSD and GPS

So it turns out the super cheap Dell Inspiron Mini 9 is highly moddable with SSD and GPS upgrades being all but a cakewalk.

The cheap netbook comes with a maximum stock SSD of 16GB which really isn't enough - not enough for JKK anyway. JKK has posted a YouTube video (below) demonstrating how easy it is to upgrade the SSD. The upgrade takes all of 5 seconds but bare in mind you will have to reinstall your OS on the new SSD.

The GPS upgrade is a tad more tricky and involves using wiring. Still though its not the hardest netbook mod in the book and definitely worth a try if you are keen on using GPS when you head out the door with your Dell. A must have for travellers. A comprehensive walkthrough guide with good pictures is available at the MyDellMini forums here. The modder even posted a very brief YouTube video showing off the working GPS.
