Asus has started telling consumers they are preparing an Asus Eee PC netbook with a discreet graphics card to cater for gamers. And they are not talking about the Asus N10.
This is a little strange given the Asus N10 was released without the Eee PC moniker - but in fact it shared all the same specs as the current generation Eee PCs except with additional discreet Nvidia 9300M graphics card. Asus even refused to call the N10 a netbook - stating it was definitely a notebook despite its 10" screen and Intel Atom CPU.
So what will be the difference between a gaming capable Eee PC and an Asus N10? The price? How can Asus charge more for an N10 than an Eee PC that does the same thing? We'll have to wait and see because details are speculative at the moment - but as always, watch this space.

Very interesting. The N10 looks like a nice machine, until you realize that it sells for almost $300 more then the 1000H. There's no way adding a 9300 class part makes it worth that much. A 9400GT costs a mere $50 at Newegg, less if you want to play Rebate Bonanza.
A 1000H with a 9300 would be nice at $500 though. Especially if they put in that HDMI port too.
Oh, and the title says "integrated graphics", it should be "discreet" like it is inside the post.
Yeah the N10 is not cheap but I don't think its a bad machine. The mid-range N10 is the best bet for value in my opinion.
Thanks for the heads up on the title - long day yesterday with heaps of news so overlooked that one!
Agreed a 1000H with a 9300 would be nice at USD500. HDMI or DVI out would be essential though.
